What is vegetable-tanned leather?
Vegetable-tanned leather is made using 100% plant-based tanning agents, with no chromium salts or other mineral/synthetic tannins added. Natural tannins extracted from plants slowly chemically cross-link with the collagen in raw hides, transforming perishable "raw skins" into stable, durable, and rot-resistant "leather."
